Coordinating Producer, Topical, Wondery
Job summaryWondery is hiring for a Coordinating Producer to support production processes for our topical shows vertical.
This role will help manage day-to-day production across multiple podcast productions and work with the show team to produce each episode.
It is the perfect role for the audio producer who is realizing that they gravitate toward spreadsheets and scheduling.
You will be vital to the Topical Shows team by providing logistical support, helping coordinate communications and deliverables between the Topical Shows team and marketing and ad operations, and maintaining calendars, budgets, and contracts.
Strong organization and communication skills are absolutely essential for this role.
You will report to the Head of Production (who leads a team of managing and coordinating producers) and work closely with the Head of Topical Shows, their managing producer, and internal Wondery content producer teams.
This is an opportunity to help build and maintain infrastructure and organization for our growing slate of shows.
We develop premium content and this role is key to building the foundation under each show.
This role can be based in either West Hollywood, CA or Brooklyn, NY.
Key job responsibilitiesSupport the Head of Topical Shows and the Managing Producer with maintaining production calendars and schedules across the department.
Help the content team manage deliverables and show budgets.
Coordinate production logistics with internal staff and external contractors.
Manage freelance production personnel (Editors, Writers, Sound Designers, hosts) and their onboarding.
Oversee and support producers with remote and studio recordings.
Provide feedback on scripts and sound design as needed.
A day in the lifeThe person in this role will report to the Head of Production and work closely with the Head of Topical Shows, their Managing Producer, and internal Wondery content producer teams.
They will have the opportunity to see, up close, what it takes to create and launch successful new shows.
They will work primarily with the Topical Shows team and have the support of the Production team.
